Role Description

This is a part-time freelance, on-site Psychotherapist role based in Barking. The Psychotherapist will provide individual and, where appropriate, couples or family counseling to clients, addressing a range of mental health and relationship concerns. Daily responsibilities include:

The role also involves:

  • Collaborating with other professionals as needed

  • Adjusting interventions to support long-term wellbeing

The Psychotherapist is expected to adhere to ethical guidelines, safeguard client confidentiality, and contribute to a supportive, client-centered environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Psychology and Mental Health, with the ability to assess, diagnose, and support a diverse range of client needs.
  • Demonstrated skills in Counseling and Relationship Counseling, including experience with evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
  • Relevant background in Medicine or clinical practice, with an understanding of how physical and mental health intersect (professional registration or licensure is highly desirable).
  • Recognized qualification in psychotherapy, psychology, counseling, or a related mental health field (e.g., master’s degree or equivalent training).
  • Experience working in a clinical or community mental health setting, preferably with varied client populations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills, with a non-judgmental and empathetic approach.
  • Ability to manage caseloads, maintain detailed documentation, and comply with relevant regulatory and ethical standards.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, supervision, and use of evidence-based practices.
