We are looking for a PTC ThingWorx Developer focused on building and supporting Industrial IoT solutions for manufacturing environments. You will design and maintain ThingWorx applications (Mashups, services, integrations), connect industrial devices via Kepware and protocols like OPC-UA/MQTT, and integrate with systems such as MES, ERP, and Windchill. A key part of the job is providing production support, troubleshooting complex issues, optimising performance, and ensuring secure, reliable operation across Dev/QA/Prod environments. The position is UK-based, open to UK Nationals only, with SC security clearance required or eligibility to obtain it. Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain ThingWorx applications (Mashups, Services, Things, Thing Templates).
- Implement scalable IIoT solutions for manufacturing and industrial use cases.
- Configure ThingWorx security (users, groups, roles, permissions) per enterprise policies.
- Build reusable components and frameworks to standardise development across projects.
- Develop integrations using REST APIs, SQL, JSON/XML with MES, ERP, Windchill and other systems.
- Configure industrial connectivity via Kepware, OPC-UA, MQTT, and PLCs for real-time data.
- Provide L1/L2/L3 production support including incident resolution and RCA documentation.
- Monitor and optimise application performance, stability, and resource utilisation.
- Manage deployments, releases, upgrades, and environment support (Dev/QA/Prod).
- Collaborate with business and technical teams, contributing to best practices and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of hands-on experience with PTC ThingWorx (development + support).
- Strong skills in Mashup UI development, ThingWorx Services, and server-side logic.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, REST APIs, JSON, and SQL.
- Solid experience in production support, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Practical knowledge of ThingWorx security, deployments, and environment management.
- Experience with Kepware and industrial data connectivity (OPC-UA, MQTT, PLCs).
- Exposure to ThingWorx Navigate, Windchill integration, and manufacturing/PLM contexts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex integrations and data flows.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional, multi-stakeholder environments.
- UK National with existing SC clearance or eligibility; experience with PTC DPM/RTPPM/AMU/CWC, MES, cloud (Azure/AWS), and DevOps is a plus.
- SC clearance and work from office is must.
