OVERVIEW
Invicta Public Affairs is inviting candidates who have a strong interest in politics as well as strong communication skills to join our team within the Invicta Glasgow Office as an Account Executive or an Account Manager.
THE WORK
At Invicta, we steer our clients through challenging political, regulatory and media landscapes across all levels of government, including local and national. We seek to influence public policy development and the regulatory landscape where it affects the business environment. Our focus is on delivering our clients the best chance of commercial success.
THE ROLE
In this role, you will deliver political and community engagement services to companies and carry out research and intelligence gathering that will be used to inform political and community engagement strategies. The role will also require involvement in event planning and organisation. This is a varied role that would suit anyone with a passion for politics and who has previous experience in:
- Working in a public affairs agency or in house;
- Experience in a parliamentary office or political support/research role;
- Or for someone looking to move from public relations into a role with a more political focus.

OBJECTIVES
- Developing and implementing client strategies within the agreed timescales and the day-to-day running and managing of client accounts.
- Political Engagement work: organising and attending meetings with key political stakeholders at a local authority and national level, and maintaining contact throughout a client project.
- Media Engagement work: drafting and issuing press releases, responding to press inquiries and social media engagement.
- Public Consultation work: public exhibitions, attendance at community meetings and indirect engagement with the general public.
- Ensure you are informed of key legislation and initiatives where relevant to a particular client base or the Company.
- Ensure you are informed of the political and regulatory landscapes for current clients and when new business opportunities arise for the Company.
- Actively participate in New Business Development.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience
We are looking for candidates with experience in a public affairs agency, experience in a parliamentary office or a political support/research role or for someone looking to move from public relations into a position with a more political focus.

- For the Account Executive role, 1-2 years of experience is required.
- For the Account Manager role, 3+ years of experience is required.
Education
The post holder should be educated to at least an undergraduate degree level, preferably in a related subject.
IT Competencies
- Good working knowledge of Google Workspace.
- Proficient user of Microsoft packages, including Excel, Word.
- Experience with video conferencing software, including Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
- Knowledge of web design would be advantageous.
