We're looking for a Public Area Cleaner who takes pride in creating welcoming, spotless spaces. If you have a keen eye for detail, enjoy working independently, and take satisfaction in maintaining high standards, we'd love to hear from you.

As part of our housekeeping team, you'll play an important role in ensuring our lounges, reception areas, corridors, public toilets, meeting rooms and other guest areas are clean, safe and ready to impress throughout the day.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PUBLIC AREA CLEANER AT OUR HOTELS

What you'll be doing...

  • Maintain the cleanliness, presentation and safety of all public areas, including the reception, lobby, lounges, corridors, public toilets, lifts and meeting spaces, ensuring they are always welcoming for guests.
  • Complete regular cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, polishing and sanitising surfaces to maintain exceptional cleanliness throughout the hotel.
  • Clean and maintain the hotel's outdoor terrace areas each day, ensuring furniture, glass, walkways and guest areas are clean, tidy and ready for use.
  • Keep back-of-house areas, including team corridors, offices, staff facilities and service areas, clean, organised and safe for colleagues.
  • Monitor and replenish supplies such as toiletries, hand soap, paper products and sanitiser stations throughout the hotel.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and unexpected cleaning requirements, delivering friendly and professional service at all times.
  • Report any maintenance issues, health and safety concerns or damaged equipment to the appropriate manager to ensure they are resolved quickly.
  • Support the wider housekeeping team and assist with setting up public areas for events or special occasions, helping to create a fantastic experience for every guest.

What We Need From You

  • Prior experience in cleaning or housekeeping roles is a plus, but not essential; full training will be provided.
  • An eye for detail and a commitment to high cleanliness standards, ensuring all public spaces are immaculate and inviting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage professionally and courteously with guests and team members.
  • Ability to work independently, stay organised, and manage time efficiently to complete tasks on schedule.
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive cleaning tasks, including standing, bending, lifting, mopping, sweeping and moving supplies as needed.
  • Availability to work early morning shifts, with some shifts starting from 5:30am, as well as flexibility to work weekends and bank holidays.
  • A proactive attitude towards safety and the willingness to follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe environment.
