The Role
As a Public Cloud Solutions Architect at Kyndryl, you will act as the trusted advisor, transforming business goals into cloud architecture that delivers tangible results.
Responsibilities
- Client Collaboration:
- Work closely with executives, architects, security teams, compliance teams, governance, delivery teams, and hyperscaler partners to align on a single technical direction.
- Shape cloud migration and modernisation roadmaps, influence early-stage strategies, and ensure smooth execution to deadlines with security-by-design principles.
- Strategy & Architecture:
- Drive discovery and assessment workshops, craft business cases, and analyse total cost of ownership (TCO).
- Translate client requirements into well-architected solutions spanning AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud—with a growing focus on AI and agentic AI.
- Design landing zones, networking, identity frameworks, data patterns, and application architectures for seamless, scalable deployments.
- Leadership & Influence:
- Act as the go-to public cloud expert for clients; champion multi-cloud, hybrid, and AI-driven transformation.
- Lead implementation teams to delivered outcomes—secure, efficient, and aligned with client objectives.
- Knowledge & Culture:
- Mentor architects and consultants, develop reference architectures and reusable accelerators, and shape Kyndryl’s delivery standards and governance.
- Extend Kyndryl’s leadership in areas like automation, workflow optimisation, and next-gen AI deployment strategies, leveraging agentic AI, LLM integration, and smart automation to enhance service delivery.
- Foster multi-cloud knowledge and identify when to engage specialist subject-matter experts (SMEs).

Who You Are
You’ve mastered your craft and can prove it. Equally, you absorb insights, encourage others to grow, and put client success first—all while fostering collaboration across teams, regions, and partners.
Required Technical and Professional Experience
- 8+ years in enterprise IT architecture, with at least 4+ specialising in public cloud architecture.
- Multi-cloud expertise: deep, hands-on experience on one major hyperscaler (AWS, Azure, or GCP), plus working knowledge of a second platform.
- Proven track record in leading cloud migration and modernisation:
- Assessments, discovery, *7 Rs framework (*rehost/replatform/refactor), landing zone design, well-architected frameworks, and scaling complex workloads.
- Proficiency in core cloud domains:
- Compute, storage, networking (VPC/VNet), hybrid connectivity, DNS, load balancing.
- Identity & access management (IAM), security, governance.
- Strong grasp of cloud-native and modernisation patterns:
- Containers (EKS/AKS/GKE), microservices, serverless, application refactoring.
- AI/agentic AI expertise:
- Designing platforms for generative and agentic architectures; using cross-Cloud AI/ML services to drive economic and technical value.
- Applying AI to delivery pipeline automation (assessment, migration, modernisation, quality assurance).
- Infrastructure and DevOps mastery:
- Infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep, Ansible)
- CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of:
- Security by design
- Cloud cost optimisation (FinOps)
- Cloud adoption frameworks
- Consulting excellence:
- Facilitate workshops, build business cases, TCO/ROI models, and advise senior stakeholders up to C-level.
- Lead delivery teams as the primary architect.
- At least one active Cloud certification (associate/professional level), e.g.:
- AWS Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional)
- Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Google Professional Cloud Architect

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- Advanced cloud certifications across multi-cloud platforms.
- Enterprise consulting experience delivering cloud strategies for ICT-led clients.
- Familiarity with Hybrid & on-premises-to-cloud transitions:
- VMware Cloud Foundation, Nutanix, AWS Outposts, Azure Stack/Azure Arc, Google Distributed Cloud.
- Agentic-AI expertise:
- Multi-agent ecosystems, AgentOps, RAG, integrating LLMs into enterprise workflows.
- Reference architecture leadership:
- Mentoring architects and creating reusable tools/standards.
- Specialisation in regulated industries (financial services, public sector, healthcare) with sovereign data compliance awareness.
- Learner creativity: exceptional verbal/written communication, stakeholder engagement confidence across levels.
