The Cambridge Festival shares the University's world-leading research with public audiences through an engaging programme of events and activities. Now entering its seventh year, the festival is seeking an individual with a passion for public engagement and educational outreach to support the planning and delivery of its family programme.

The successful post-holder will lead the development and delivery of the festival's family programme each Spring, while contributing to a range of year-round, University-wide public engagement initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to engage audiences locally, nationally and internationally, shape new strands of activity, and support researchers across the University to connect with wider communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key public engagement and informal learning partners, both within and beyond the University.
  • Provide guidance, coordination, and training where appropriate, helping to ensure high-quality engagement activity across the festival programme.
  • Work closely with the Festival Manager and the wider Public Engagement Team to support the wider delivery of the Cambridge Festival, including festival strategy, event logistics, non-family audience events, budgeting, evaluation, and health and safety procedures.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
