About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a practitioner with experience of implementing public health interventions and programmes who wants to make a difference to the health of current and future generations in Wales. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, analytical, a skilled communicator and ideally experience of working with a range of public sector stakeholders.

If successful you will support Public Health Network Cymru and oversee delivery of the network’s development plan. The network, which is hosted by the Wider Determinants of Health Unit, aims to inform, facilitate and create connections for professionals from a range of sectors in order to improve population health and well-being and reduce health inequalities.

You will also support delivery of other elements of the Unit workplan, including work to improve health equity by addressing worklessness of public health concern.

Responsibilities

  • Support Public Health Network Cymru and oversee delivery of the network’s development plan
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of projects to understand and influence wider determinants of health at an All Wales level

  • Contribute to the development of interventions that are co-produced with key stakeholders including the public
  • Lead on the dissemination of knowledge and evidence relating to the wider determinants of health

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
