The Role
This award-winning Public Law and Regulation team is recognised as one of only a handful of dedicated specialist practices in the UK, advising on some of the most complex and high-profile public law and regulatory matters in the market.
Working as part of a close-knit and collaborative team, you will gain exposure to both contentious and non-contentious matters across a diverse client base, including central government departments, regulators, arms-length bodies and major organisations operating within regulated sectors.
Your workload will be varied and intellectually stimulating, covering judicial review, statutory appeals, constitutional and administrative law, human rights, equalities, statutory interpretation, legislative drafting, regulatory compliance and enforcement, together with advising on public decision-making and governance issues. Clients span a broad range of sectors including energy, healthcare, education, water, life sciences, food and drink, and consumer products.

You will work closely with experienced Partners and senior lawyers who are committed to mentoring and developing junior talent, providing exceptional training and genuine opportunities to build expertise within this highly specialised area of law.
The Candidate
Applications are welcomed from qualified Solicitors with up to 2 years PQE. Previous public law experience is not essential, although candidates should be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in public law and regulation together with the intellectual capability and enthusiasm to develop within this complex and rewarding specialism.
You will possess excellent academic credentials, strong analytical ability and outstanding communication skills. The successful candidate will enjoy tackling technically challenging legal issues, working collaboratively with colleagues and clients, and delivering practical, commercially focused advice.
The role is based in Birmingham with occasional travel to London and client offices as required.
