Location: HMP Fosse Way, LE18 4TN Salary: £26,510 per annum, plus excellent benefits Schedule: Full-time (Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week)
About the Role

As a Public Protection and VISOR Case Administrator in our Justice and Immigration team, you’ll support the Public Protection Unit by managing sensitive information, coordinating with internal and external agencies, and ensuring safeguarding responsibilities are upheld effectively. Your contributions will help protect children, vulnerable individuals, and the wider public, creating meaningful positive outcomes both inside and outside the prison environment.
This role is all about purposeful, impactful work. Through detailed administration, strict confidentiality, and a safeguarding mindset, you’ll support processes that build trust, strengthen public protection, and shape a better future.
Responsibilities
You’ll be entrusted with:
- Processing child contact applications in line with Public Protection Manual requirements and liaising with relevant external agencies.
- Gathering, collating, and preparing sensitive prisoner records for safe internal and external sharing.
- Monitoring telephone calls, incoming, and outgoing mail, identifying and reporting intelligence where necessary.
- Ensuring all monitoring activities comply with legislation, policies, and authorised procedures.
- Maintaining accurate records of monitoring activities and ensuring secure information storage.
- Completing necessary checks for prisoners with restrictions before approved contacts are permitted.
- Supporting intelligence gathering activities alongside the Police Information Officer and Security teams.
- Assisting with public protection processes and contributing to key aspects of the parole process within the prison estate.

Requirements
This role is ideal for someone with:
- The highest integrity, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues, visitors, prisoners, and external agencies.
- Good analytical skills, with expertise in monitoring, reviewing, and auditing information accurately.
- The ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team.
- An understanding of (or willingness to develop) working in a secure environment.
- A commitment to safeguarding, focusing on positive outcomes for individuals and communities.
Vetting and Security Checks
Job offers are subject to:
- Ministry of Justice Enhanced Level 2 checks
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance
- Satisfactory employment references
- Occupational health assessments
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; all roles are subject to random alcohol and drug testing.
