Location: HMP Fosse Way, LE18 4TN Salary: £26,510 per annum, plus excellent benefits Schedule: Full-time (Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week)

As a Public Protection and VISOR Case Administrator in our Justice and Immigration team, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the Public Protection Unit by:
- Managing sensitive information
- Coordinating with internal and external agencies
- Delivering safeguarding responsibilities effectively
Your work will contribute to the protection of children, vulnerable individuals, and the wider public.
This is a role where purpose matters—through attention to detail, strong administration, and safeguarding, you’ll help create positive outcomes within and beyond the prison environment. By working closely with operational colleagues and partner agencies, you’ll support processes that build trust, strengthen public protection, and drive meaningful change.
Key Responsibilities
Core Duties
You’ll be entrusted to:
- Process child contact applications in line with Public Protection Manual requirements and liaise with external agencies.
- Gather, collate, and prepare sensitive information from prisoner records for internal and external sharing.
- Monitor telephone calls, incoming, and outgoing mail, identifying and reporting intelligence where necessary.
- Ensure all monitoring activities comply with legislation, policies, and authorised procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of monitoring activities and ensure secure information storage.
- Conduct relevant prisoner checks and risk assessments before adding approved contacts.
- Support intelligence-gathering activities alongside the Police Information Officer and Security teams.
- Assist with public protection processes and key aspects of the parole process within the prison estate.

Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Highest levels of integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling sensitive information.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, able to build trust and positive relationships with colleagues, visitors, prisoners, and external agencies.
- Good analytical skills, with the ability to monitor, review, and audit information accurately.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
- Proven commitment to safeguarding and supporting positive outcomes for individuals and communities.
- Understanding of secure working environments, or willingness to learn.
Vetting & Checks
- Subject to Ministry of Justice Enhanced Level 2 clearance with an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
- Satisfactory employment references and occupational health assessments.
- This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
- All roles are subject to random alcohol and drug testing.
