About the Company & Product

We are recruiting for a global healthcare leader that helps people live more fully at all stages of life, spanning diagnostics, medical devices, nutrition, and branded generic medicines. Their 113,000 colleagues serve people in more than 160 countries.

We are currently seeking a PR Manager to support our client’s innovative consumer biowearables business in the UK. The successful candidate will be passionate about consumer technology and its impact on human health.

Role Overview

This role offers a high degree of autonomy within a small, dynamic UK team, reporting directly to the Head of PR based in the US. We are looking for a highly independent, self-motivated PR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has an "earned-media first" approach to campaigns.

The ideal candidate will be a strong storyteller across consumer, tech, and health, with a proven track record of managing external agencies, navigating internal cross-functional teams, and building strong rapport with senior leadership.

What you’ll Do

  • Design and execute external public relations strategies and approaches for key product launches, brand campaigns, and product awareness programs/outreach.
  • Oversee PR agency or other communications consultants, collaborating closely to manage budgets and drive the best possible work from the agency team.
  • Work extensively with top-tier consumer, health, technology, and business reporters (both proactively and reactively) to enhance and protect the company’s reputation as well as advance business objectives.
  • Develop compelling consumer focused storylines, positioning, and key messaging for the business, picking up complex concepts quickly.
  • Identify and anticipate issues and partner with appropriate functions to counsel management on reputational and business impact, including regulatory and policy considerations, and influence business decision making process.
  • Work closely with government affairs and cross-functional stakeholders to support and execute external engagement opportunities within the NHS.
  • Share key industry and competitive insights, including category trends across consumer health, metabolic health, and digital health, and events that impact the business.
  • Support the development of PR strategies that contribute to category education and awareness, particularly in areas such as metabolic health and prediabetes.
  • Develop multimedia content and social and digital strategies to complement key campaigns.
  • Bring to the table an understanding of today's communications environment amongst earned, owned, social, and paid media and how to align and maximize opportunities provided by these channels.
  • Serve as a liaison with corporate Content team regarding digital and social amplification on corporate channels.
  • Set metrics to measure effectiveness of internal and external communication efforts.
  • Coach internal/external spokespeople on delivery of key messages.
  • Counsel business teams and external partners on business-related efforts and initiatives.
  • Partner with various stakeholders including regulatory affairs, operations, quality, R&D, HR, government affairs, investor relations, legal, finance, and senior management.
  • Support internal and executive communications.
  • Support the development of scientific and evidence-based communications, translating data and insights into easy-to-understand narratives.
  • Collaborate with medical, regulatory, and external experts to incorporate HCP and key opinion leader perspectives into communications where appropriate.
  • Contribute to initiatives that strengthen credibility with healthcare professionals and the scientific community.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
