Public Relations Manager
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Public Relations Manager to lead the company's public engagement and communications across the UK. Acting as the company's official external representative, you will build and maintain strategic relationships with government bodies, retail partners, industry organisations, and the media while overseeing public relations, corporate reputation, and external communications. The role will play a key part in strengthening the company's brand reputation, credibility, and long-term presence in the UK market.
Key Responsibilities

Serve as the company’s primary external representative in the UK, developing and maintaining strong relationships with:
- Government departments
- Public authorities
- Industry associations
to establish effective and trusted communication channels.

Build and manage strategic relationships with major retailers, supermarket chains, and commercial partners, supporting stakeholder engagement and resolving partnership issues.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with national, regional, and trade media, coordinating:
- Media interviews
- Press releases
- Proactive communications
- Day-to-day media engagement.

Lead the company’s external communications strategy in the UK:
- Plan and deliver corporate communications initiatives
- Oversee brand campaigns and reputation-building activities
- Enhance public perception and brand awareness

Monitor:
- Media coverage
- Public sentiment
- Industry developments
Proactively identify reputational risks and lead crisis communications and issues management as required.

Develop and maintain a high-quality network of external stakeholders, including:
- Government contacts
- Media representatives
- Retail partners
- Other relevant organisations

Requirements
Essential
-
A built career in the UK with:
- Strong understanding of the UK’s political, media, and commercial landscape
- Ability to build trusted relationships with senior external stakeholders
- Full legal right to work full-time in the UK

A Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in:
- Communications
- Public Relations
- Journalism
- Media Studies
- Or a related discipline.

8+ years’ experience in:
- Public Affairs
- Public Relations
- Corporate Communications
- External Affairs
With proven expertise in:
- Managing government engagement
- Media relations
- External stakeholder relationships within the UK

Strong understanding of UK public relations and corporate communications practices, including:
- Reputation management
- Media engagement
- Issues management
- Crisis communications.

Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the confidence to represent the company externally at a senior level.
Desirable
- An established network across:
- UK government
- Media
- Major retail organisations.
- Previous experience in:
- Consumer electronics
- FMCG
- Regulated industries
- International brands
