We are the Society for Endocrinology. We bring together the global endocrine community to share ideas and advance our discipline. As a membership organisation, we support scientists, clinicians, and nurses working with hormones and we engage wider society to encourage informed health decisions and demonstrate the value of endocrinology. We share and champion hormone science through our publishing programme and globally recognised journal portfolio.
About the role:
We have an opportunity for an experienced Publisher to manage and develop a portfolio of journals, working closely with academic editors, partner organisations, and colleagues across the publishing team to deliver editorial growth and strong journal performance.
As Publisher, you will act as product owner for a portfolio of journals, developing and delivering journal strategies that support growth in submissions, published content, impact, and financial performance. You will work collaboratively with editorial boards and stakeholders to identify opportunities, commission content, and strengthen the position of your journals within their research communities.

You will oversee journal plans, budgets, and performance metrics, manage one direct report, and key editorial and partner relationships, and ensure journals are developed in line with strategic objectives and publishing best practice. The role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the growth and success of a respected STM publishing portfolio while building strong networks across the scientific community.
About you:
- You bring experience and/or transferable expertise in STM journal publishing, with an understanding of the academic publishing landscape and the factors that drive journal development and performance.
- You are confident working with data, publishing metrics, and budgets to inform decisions and track progress against objectives.
- You enjoy building relationships with academic editors, researchers, and partner organisations, and are comfortable influencing and collaborating with a range of stakeholders, including through some international travel.
- Experience of commissioning content, developing journal strategies, or managing publishing products would be advantageous.
- You are highly organised, proactive, and solutions-focused, with strong communication skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
- You enjoy working as part of a collaborative team and are committed to delivering high-quality publishing outcomes.
