Department: Content Solutions

Location: Remote first, UK

Compensation: circa £32,000

Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Publishing Operations Editor to join our Content Solutions team on a Fixed Term Contract to provide maternity cover, where you will have end-to-end management of a portfolio of books, from facilitating the Editorial onboarding of new books right through to publication. You will ensure the books are published in line with Emerald’s standards of timely delivery, quality, customer service, and cost control.

You’ll support our authors and book editors through the onboarding with effective and timely communication as well as supporting our offshore supplier partners in day-to-day activities, including system support and problem solving. You will also be involved in writing synopsis copy and liaising with designers on cover designs.

Once in production you will continue to liaise with authors to ensure expectations are met and processes are understood, and will use your expert knowledge to own the book’s schedule, including problem solving when unexpected delays occur.

This is an exciting role that would suit an outcome-oriented individual wanting to be a part of publishing real world impact research.

Location

We perform at our best when we feel trusted and are able to choose an approach to working that suits us best, which is why we are a remote-first company. However, we also believe in face to face collaboration, and our UK colleagues meet once a month for team time and quarterly for company get togethers in our Leeds office, so we ask that you be within a commutable distance that you are comfortable with in order to attend the office on those occasions.

Please note that although we are a remote-first company, the role will need to be carried out from the UK. As such, we are unable to accommodate remote arrangements from other countries.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
