Pupil Support Assistant - Buckstone Primary School

Pupil Support Assistant – Fixed Term (until 29/06/2027)

Location: Buckstone Primary School, Edinburgh Salary: £26,806 – £27,032 (pro-rata for part-time) Hours: 22.5 per week, 39 weeks sessional


About the Role

An inspiring opportunity exists at Buckstone Primary School for an energetic Pupil Support Assistant to support the Support for Learning team. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, skilled at nurturing strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues, and dedicated to promoting both attainment and emotional wellbeing for every child.

Buckstone Primary School is a welcoming, inclusive primary school and nursery based in south Edinburgh. It has a strong focus on wellbeing, inclusion, and positive relationships, creating an uplifting environment where every child feels valued and supported.


Key Responsibilities

  • Play a vital role in supporting children’s learning, development, and emotional wellbeing
  • Assist and encourage students to maximise their attainment in collaboration with the team
  • Maintain positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff
  • Ensure a nurturing environment where children feel safe and confident

Employment Notes

  • No school holidays = No working during 12 weeks of school holidays.
  • Salary is paid monthly (12 equal payments) over the academic year.
