Pupil Support Assistant – Fixed Term until 02/07/2027
Location: Gilmerton Primary School Salary: £26,806 - £27,032 (pro rata for part-time and sessional) Hours: 25 per week, 39-week sessional
About the Role
Gilmerton Primary School is seeking two committed and enthusiastic Pupil Support Assistants to join their inclusive team. As part of the school team, you will collaborate to meet the educational, care, and welfare needs of all pupils. Your role will be critical in ensuring pupils with additional support needs can access learning in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive setting, helping them reach their full potential.

Gilmerton Primary is a non-denominational school serving the southeast Edinburgh community since 1968. With 19 classes (P1–P7) and a current pupil roll of 510, the school is led by a team comprising:
- A Headteacher
- Two Depute Headteachers
- A Principal Teacher
- A Business Manager

Requirements & Financial Protections
Working with Vulnerable Groups
This role is regulated work under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
Pre-employment checks will include:
- Participation in the PVG Scheme or an update check
- If no UK residence for 3+ months in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required
All offers of employment and commencement are contingent on the satisfactory completion of these checks.
