Role Description
The Purchase Assistant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Leicester. The role involves supporting purchasing activities, including preparing and processing purchase orders, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring timely delivery of stock. The Purchase Assistant will coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to confirm order details, resolve discrepancies, and monitor stock levels. Daily tasks include updating purchasing systems, tracking shipments, assisting with procurement documentation, and helping to identify cost-effective purchasing options. The role also requires regular communication with stakeholders to support smooth supply chain operations and maintain product availability.

- Strong understanding of purchasing processes and practical experience in purchasing or procurement support.
- Ability to create, review, and manage purchase orders with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills for working with suppliers, logistics partners, and internal teams.
- Basic knowledge of procurement principles and inventory management practices.
- Proficiency with office software (e.g., spreadsheets, ERP or purchasing systems) and data entry.
- Organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate records under time constraints.
- Experience in food distribution, FMCG, or a similar supply-chain environment is beneficial.
- Relevant vocational training or a qualification in business, supply chain, or a related field is an advantage.
