Role Description

The Purchase Ledger Clerk role is a full-time, on-site position based in Pontypridd. The role is responsible for processing supplier invoices, matching them to purchase orders, and ensuring accurate posting to the purchase ledger. Day-to-day tasks include reconciling supplier statements, managing expenses, resolving invoice queries, and preparing payments in line with company procedures. The Purchase Ledger Clerk will work closely with the finance team and project staff to maintain up-to-date financial information and support month-end processes. The role requires consistent attention to detail, adherence to internal controls, and timely communication with suppliers and colleagues.

  • Experience with purchase ledgers and purchase orders, including invoice processing and supplier reconciliations.
  • Ability to manage expenses, maintaining accurate records and supporting internal control procedures.
  • Relevant accounting knowledge; Sage 50 and Excel are advantageous.
  • Strong numeracy, attention to detail, and proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with finance and site teams.
  • Organisational skills to manage multiple deadlines in a busy construction environment.
  • Prior experience in a finance or accounts payable role; experience in construction or related industries is beneficial.
