Purchasing Administration Apprenticeship

Distag are looking for an ambitious apprentice to join their team in a Purchasing Administration role.

Requirements

  • GCSE in: English (grade Level 4), Maths (grade Level 4)
  • Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

  • This post has the specified working hours of 40 hours per week, normally 8:30am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour lunch break, but it is required that the Purchasing Assistant will work such hours necessary to carry out the duties associated with the post. Overtime is not payable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Procurement Specialists in creating reports for ordering and monitoring purposes.
  • Carry out the relevant system processes in relation to purchasing functions, including processing stock once it has left suppliers and is in transit, receiving stock in on delivery and invoicing.
  • Liaise with the Sales Team in relation to backorder enquiries, assist with quotations and orders to provide pricing and lead times.
  • Assist with product creation on our MRP system and maintaining product data validations.
  • Assist in managing the stock levels across our locations, arranging for stock to be transferred as appropriate.
  • Supporting other members of the team and assisting with other tasks as required.

Benefits

  • Wage: £16,640 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age. National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices. Minimum wage rates.
  • Training course: Business administrator (level 3)
  • Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5pm with a one-hour lunch break. 40 hours a week
  • Start date: Saturday 1 August 2026
  • Duration: 1 year 6 months
  • Positions available: 1
  • The opportunity to gain a full-time position.
