About the role:
As Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager you're responsible for leading and managing the Procurement and Planning teams to ensure industry-leading off the shelf parts availability. This role will drive operational excellence, optimize supply chain processes, and maintain strong supplier relationships to meet customer demand efficiently and cost-effectively.
You'll be responsible for leading and mentoring the Planning Team, The Procurement Team, Driving the day to day Lubricants Operations and ensuring Compliance for imports / exports into UK, EU and ROW Markets
What does this role involve day to day?
Team Leadership:
- Manage, mentor, and develop the Procurement and Planning teams to achieve departmental objectives and foster a high-performance culture.
Parts Availability:
- Ensure industry-leading off the shelf parts availability through effective forecasting, inventory management, material scheduling and supplier coordination.
Procurement Strategy:
- Develop and implement Aftermarket procurement strategies that deliver cost savings, quality assurance, and timely supply of parts.
Planning & Forecasting:
- Collaborate with Inventory Manager on demand planning and inventory control processes to align with business goals and customer requirements.
Supplier Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance to ensure delivery and quality reliability and compliance.

- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and optimize stock levels / locations.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, customs laws & regulatory requirements.
Reporting & Analysis:
- Provide regular reports and insights on Planning & Procurement performance, and availability metrics to senior management.
Systems & Data Integrity:
- Champion the use of planning systems (SAP essential; Syncron desirable). Ensuring high-quality data inputs and outputs to support reliable forecasting and decision-making.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams (e.g. Customer Support, Logistics, Quality, Finance) to resolve planning and procurement challenges. Represent the team in operational reviews and strategic initiatives.
This will be suited to you if…
- You have a deep understanding of procurement, planning, inventory management, and logistics.
- You have expertise in SAP (essential) and familiarity with Syncron (desirable).
- You have the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable strategies.

- You have strong interpersonal skills to build trust and collaboration across departments.
- You're skilled at guiding teams through process improvements and organizational changes.
