Procurement & Supplier Management Lead

£60,000 pa + bonus and benefits Location: Leeds

About the Role

Fast-growing supplier of electrical components, systems, and ancillary items to:

  • OEMs
  • Panel builders
  • Industrial automation businesses
  • Specialist engineering customers

Seeking an experienced purchasing professional to join the senior leadership team, driving strategic transformation across:

  • Procurement & Supplier Management
  • Inventory Optimisation & Forecasting
  • Commercial & Operational Leadership

Key Responsibilities

Working alongside the senior leadership team, this role requires:

  • Restructuring and optimising the purchasing function, systems, and processes
  • Implementing "best practice" frameworks
  • Leading a small team in acquiring technical and commercial talent
  • Fostering strong relations with suppliers and internal stakeholders

Requirements

Essential

  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager, Senior Buyer, or Procurement Lead within a similar technical environment
  • Deep expertise in:
    • Negotiation, supplier and people management
    • ERP/MRP systems (practical familiarity)
  • Strong commercial acumen with a clear focus on ** operational efficiency

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a fast-paced procurement environment with a clear upward trajectory
  • Familiarity with KPI-based performance frameworks for supplier collaboration
