Experienced PV Installer / Roofer
Location: Devon / South West
Salary: £28,000 – £36,000 per annum + Overtime + Company Van
Our client is a well-established and expanding renewable energy contractor delivering high-quality solar PV, battery storage, and EV charging installations across the South West. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced PV Installer / Roofer to join their installation team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced solar installer who enjoys working on a variety of domestic and commercial renewable energy projects. The successful candidate will join a professional, supportive team with excellent opportunities for ongoing training, career development, and progression within the rapidly growing renewable energy sector.

The Role
Working as part of an experienced installation team, you'll be responsible for installing solar PV systems on domestic and commercial properties, including pitched roofs, flat roofs, and ground-mounted systems. You'll be expected to work safely, efficiently, and to a consistently high standard while leading installations on site where required.
The role also involves liaising with project managers, reviewing installation plans, identifying and resolving site issues, preparing materials and equipment, and ensuring projects are completed on schedule and in line with company quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install solar PV systems on pitched, flat, and ground-mounted installations.
- Lead installation teams on site where appropriate.
- Review project information and identify potential installation challenges.
- Prepare, load, and unload equipment and materials.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times.
- Deliver excellent workmanship and customer service.
- Support, mentor, and train less experienced installers.

Essential Requirements
- Proven experience installing solar PV systems or renewable energy technologies.
- Experience working safely at height.
- Strong practical roofing and installation skills.
- Good communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable using mobile apps, email, and Microsoft Teams.
- Good level of physical fitness.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- CSCS Card.
- Working at Height training.
- Asbestos Awareness.
- IPAF and/or PASMA certification.
- Harness training.
- Forklift licence.
- Experience supervising installation teams.
Working Hours
- Full-time position.
- Typical working hours are Monday to Friday, between 7:00am and 5:00pm.
- Flexibility is required to meet project demands.
- Occasional overnight stays and travel may be required.
Successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
