About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Python Developer to join a prominent systematic hedge fund based in London. This role offers an exciting opportunity to architect and enhance the firm's regulatory reporting infrastructure, playing a pivotal role in shaping their market surveillance platform. You will be responsible for designing systems from scratch, rather than maintaining legacy code, tackling complex technical challenges such as processing large datasets, implementing validation protocols, and creating scalable, compliant solutions. The position requires a deep understanding of financial services, particularly in regulatory reporting and market surveillance, with a focus on leveraging Python, SQL, and RPA technologies.
The successful candidate will initially work onsite in London for five days a week, with a transition to a hybrid working model as the role progresses. This is a unique chance to be part of a rapidly growing quant fund that doubled its revenue last year and is actively expanding its technology team. Your contributions will directly influence the firm's compliance capabilities and operational efficiency, making this a highly impactful role within the organization.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
