About The Role

We are currently seeking a skilled Software Developer to join our client's dynamic team based in Abingdon-On-Thames. This role offers a flexible work arrangement, with the opportunity to work three days from home and two days in the office, or potentially four days from home for the right candidate. The successful applicant will be instrumental in developing and maintaining the company's core software solutions, focusing primarily on backend development with a significant involvement in front-end tasks. This position is ideal for a proactive and adaptable developer who thrives in a small but growing team environment.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of commercial software development experience
  • Proficiency in Python programming language
  • Experience with JavaScript and React.js for front-end development
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services primarily using Python, ensuring high performance and responsiveness
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features and enhancements
  • Implement and optimize front-end components using React.js, contributing to a seamless user experience
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure code quality and reliability
  • Contribute to the planning and architecture of new system modules and features
  • Assist in deploying applications to cloud environments, ensuring security and compliance standards are met
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements
