About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Python Developer - AVP to join our Wholesale Credit Risk Technology team at Citibank. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within the Institutional Credit Management division, contributing to the development and enhancement of critical credit risk applications. As a core member of our technology team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative solutions using Python, FastAPI, MCP, Large Language Models (LLM), Java, and other state-of-the-art technologies. Your expertise will support our front office and credit risk business, enabling us to maintain our competitive edge in the financial services industry. This position requires a proactive professional who thrives in a collaborative environment, working closely with onshore and offshore teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and efficient technology solutions.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing enterprise-scale, highly componentized applications using Python and FastAPI.
- Strong proficiency in Python programming, with recent experience incorporating Large Language Models, Model Context Protocols, and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, and other containerized deployment platforms.
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycle, agile methodologies, and best practices in code quality and testing.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, project managers, and business stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts and project updates clearly to team members and leadership.
- Experience working with offshore and onshore development teams, demonstrating strong teamwork and coordination skills.
- Ability to investigate and resolve complex bugs and production support issues efficiently.
- Prior experience in the financial services industry is preferred but not mandatory.
- Educational qualification: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python applications aligned with business requirements and technical standards.
- Implement and optimize APIs using FastAPI, ensuring high performance and security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand technical needs and translate them into effective solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure code quality and maintainability.
- Work with DevOps teams to deploy applications using CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments like Kubernetes.
- Investigate and troubleshoot production issues, providing timely resolutions to minimize operational impact.
- Research and integrate advanced AI/ML models, including Large Language Models, into existing applications to enhance functionality.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to credit risk and financial services.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Support the documentation of technical specifications, user guides, and operational procedures.
