About The Role
The Python Developer at Citibank will play a pivotal role within the Wholesale Credit Risk Technology team, supporting the Institutional Credit Management (ICM) division. This position involves designing, developing, and maintaining sophisticated application systems that underpin critical credit risk operations. The ideal candidate will collaborate with both onshore and offshore teams to deliver innovative technology solutions aligned with business needs. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work at the forefront of financial technology, utilizing the latest advancements in Python, FastAPI, Large Language Models (LLM), Model Context Protocol, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture, Java, and containerized platforms such as Kubernetes. The successful candidate will contribute to projects that enhance the bank’s ability to manage credit risk effectively, ensuring compliance, security, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of hands-on experience in enterprise-scale application development using Python and FastAPI
- Strong technical background in building highly componentized applications
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, and other containerization tools
- Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with development teams, project leads, and stakeholders across different locations
- Familiarity with modern Python development techniques involving Large Language Models, Model Context Protocol, and RAG architecture
- Background in the Financial Services industry is preferred, but not mandatory
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields is required
Responsibilities
- Research and resolve complex technical issues, escalating problems when necessary to ensure minimal disruption to business operations
- Design and implement scalable, efficient, and secure application components
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate these into technical solutions
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, deployment, and support
- Work closely with onshore and offshore teams to ensure timely delivery of projects
- Investigate and troubleshoot production support issues
- Continuously improve application performance
- Stay updated with the latest technological trends and incorporate best practices into development processes, especially in the context of financial data security and compliance
