Contract - Senior Python Developer – Equities Risk Platform
Location: London (Hybrid)
Daily Rate: £900
A leading global investment bank is seeking an experienced Senior Python Developer to join a high-profile Equities Risk Technology team. This is an opportunity to play a key role in the design and development of a next-generation risk platform used by trading, risk management, and quantitative teams across the business.
The successful candidate will work on mission-critical systems that provide real-time and end-of-day risk analytics across a broad range of equity products. You will collaborate closely with front office stakeholders, quantitative analysts, and technology teams to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions that directly support trading and risk decision-making.

- Extensive commercial experience developing enterprise applications in Python.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and distributed systems.
- Experience building high-performance data processing and analytics platforms.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented design and modern Python frameworks.
- Experience working with SQL and large-scale data environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proven track record delivering complex technology projects within financial services.
- Equities, Prime Services, Delta One, or broader front-office risk technology experience.
- Knowledge of risk management concepts including sensitivities, VaR, stress testing, and P&L attribution.
- Experience with cloud technologies, containerisation, and modern DevOps practices.
- Exposure to distributed compute frameworks and real-time data architectures.
