About The Opportunity

Roles of this type sit within collaborative teams where you would work alongside experienced engineers and architects, contributing to the design, development and delivery of robust, scalable solutions. The work could involve building APIs, developing microservices, and supporting the deployment and maintenance of applications across cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS and GCP.
Typical Role Overview
- Location: Manchester, Bristol, Cambridge or UK-wide
- Type: Contract / Permanent
- Full-time
- Day Rate: £600–800 per day (contract) / £250–280 per day (alternative)
- Experience level: Mid-level
- Field of study: Computer Science (or equivalent)
What You Would Do
Typical responsibilities could include:
- Contributing to the design and development of Python applications and microservices
- Building and integrating APIs to connect systems and enable data flow
- Supporting the deployment and management of applications using Docker and Kubernetes
- Writing and maintaining clean, well-tested code that follows best practices
- Collaborating with team members across engineering, architecture and operations
- Participating in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions
- Supporting the optimization of data pipelines and data quality processes

What You Could Bring
Must-have
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
- Solid proficiency in Python programming
- Working knowledge of APIs, microservices and RESTful architecture
- Experience with SQL and relational databases
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP
- Understanding of CI/CD principles and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Version control experience (Git or similar)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Nice-to-have
- AWS Certified Developer – Associate or equivalent cloud certification
- PCEP, PCAP or PCPP Python programming certifications
- Experience with.NET, ASP.NET, React or Java / Spring Boot
- Knowledge of distributed systems architecture
- Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform)
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools
- Experience with Linux and Windows environments
- Scripting experience (Bash or similar)
