About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Python Developer / Backend Software Engineer to join our dynamic R&D team in Cambridge. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing a new Greenfield product aimed at combating the emerging threat of AI-based security attacks. Your work will involve a mix of rapid prototyping, structured development, and continuous improvement of complex systems. You will primarily focus on backend development using Python, with opportunities to work with Rust and other emerging technologies, applying the most suitable tools for each project.

This position offers a unique chance to be at the forefront of cybersecurity innovation, tackling real-world challenges with a talented team of professionals. Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Python and backend software engineering principles.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Familiarity with Rust, Typescript, and C++ is advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, including version control, testing, and deployment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM discipline.
  • Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using Python, ensuring high performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and translate them into effective solutions.
  • Participate in rapid prototyping and iterative development processes to explore innovative ideas.
  • Contribute to the development of new features and enhancements for existing platforms.
  • Work with emerging technologies such as Rust, Typescript, and C++ to select the best tools for each task.
  • Implement best practices for software engineering, including code reviews, testing, and documentation.
  • Engage in continuous learning to stay updated with the latest industry trends and technological advancements.
  • Support the deployment and operational aspects of the systems, ensuring reliability and security.
