Python Developer
Location: Glasgow
Contract: 1 year
Work Setup: Hybrid - 3 days in the office

Who You Will Work With
Our client is a global financial services firm that manages wealth, navigates complex markets, and designs strategic financial objectives. The firm provides risk management solutions across a variety of sectors, emphasizing long-term relationships, and innovative approaches to financial challenges.
What You'll Do
- Maintain and improve existing scripts and stored procedures
- Support the modernisation, consolidation and simplification of legacy codebases using Python
- Assist ongoing efforts to increase the platform's capacity and scalability
- Utilise GenAI tools to automate and accelerate code generation

What You Bring
- Proven programming experience in high-level languages such as Python
- Strong competence in relational database technologies (Sybase, IBM DB2)
- Hands-on experience with LLM/GenAI tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude)
- Familiar with automated testing methodologies (TDD or BDD), version control systems and CI/CD pipelines
- Practical experience with Unix environments, shell scripting and job-scheduling tools (Autosys)
- Excellent communication skills and prior experience in financial services or banking technology
- Knowledge of the Equity Derivative business
