Python Software Developer
A leading technology-driven hedge fund is looking for a Python Software Developer to join their risk technology team here in London. Having gone through a period of growth since venturing into new asset classes, there is a need to revamp and rebuild some key components of their risk systems used by Risk Managers and Risk Analysts across the firm. The successful Python Software Developer will be working on these projects with the goal to make the platform more scalable and resilient for both internal stakeholders and external clients.

Key Requirements
- Strong programming skills with Python and SQL
- Knowledge of distributed systems and messaging technologies (Kafka, Kinesis, or similar)
- Experience with data engineering (relational databases, building data pipelines, Lakehouse systems, etc)
- Experience with cloud, container, and micro-service infrastructures (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker, Helm)
- Knowledge of data modelling, data warehousing, and ETL design patterns
- Experience with workflow orchestration and scheduling platforms (Airflow, Dagster, or similar)
To be considered for this role, the successful applicant should have extensive experience building Python systems using modern architecture and with a focus on scalability. Prior experience working in risk is not required, although prior experience working in financial markets would be advantageous.
