Join us in driving operational excellence as the Quality, Health & Safety Manager, where you’ll lead and manage Quality and HSE performance across manufacturing facilities specialising in industrial filtration.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management
- Own and maintain the site Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring full compliance with ISO 9001 and corporate standards.
- Oversee manufacturing processes (cutting, sewing, finishing, treatment of filter media) to meet customer specifications, regulations, and standards.
- Develop, implement, and refine quality procedures while promoting a "right-first-time" and "stop work" culture.
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring timely closure of any non-conformances.
- Investigate customer complaints, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective/preventive actions within set timelines.
- Monitor and report key quality KPIs (defect rates, variation, customer feedback trends).
- Align processes across all operations for consistency, compliance, and excellence.

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Leadership
- Assistant the site HSE strategy, ensuring alignment with UK legislation (Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, COSHH, DSEAR, etc.).
- Act as the subject matter expert and primary HSE contact for regulatory compliance, policy development, and external stakeholder liaison.
- Lead continuous improvement of HSE management systems, improving safety culture through visible leadership.
- Develop and maintain risk assessments, incident investigations (e.g., 5 Whys, Ishikawa), and emergency response procedures(drilled regularly).
- Oversee occupational health surveillance (dust/fibre exposure) and environmental monitoring.
- Monitor/improve HSE KPIs, reporting performance at both site and group levels.
Compliance, Training & Governance
- Delivery employee and contractor HSE training (onsite inductions, refresher programs).
- Collaborate with managers to improve safety behaviours and enforce safe systems of work.
- Ensure compliance with ISO system requirements (e.g., ISO 14001).
- Maintain accurate records (audits, incidents, inspections) with full documentation control.
- Partner with suppliers to enforce quality assurance where applicable.
- Support governance and leadership reporting on quality and safety metrics.

Qualifications & Experience
- Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Quality Management, or Health & Safety, or strong related experience.
- NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (or pursuing).
- Minimum 5 years’ leadership in Quality and /or HSE within a manufacturing industry.
- Preference for candidates with experience in textile, filtration, or industrial production.
- Deep understanding of ISO 9001 standards and UK Health & Safety legislation.
- Confirmed track record of leading audits, investigations, and compliance programs.
