Quality Assurance Advisor CSS (Chemistry Support Services)

An opportunity has arisen for a Quality Assurance Advisor CSS (Chemistry Support Services) to support the effective implementation of the Dounreay Management System and the CSS Quality Management System supporting ISO17025 and 17020 compliance under UKAS Accreditation, across the Laboratories facilities and operations, within Site Services – Technical Services. The role involves managing quality processes, coordinating audits, maintaining compliance, supporting UKAS and regulatory interactions, and driving continuous improvement to ensure the highest standards of assurance and governance are achieved.

As a Quality Assurance Advisor CSS, you will play a vital role in supporting the implementation and maintenance of the Dounreay Management System, ensuring compliance with ISO17025 and 17020 and regulatory, statutory and quality requirements. Working closely with laboratory teams, auditors, UKAS and regulators, you will help drive excellence, assurance and continuous improvement across the organisation. What You'll Be Doing

  • Implement and maintain the CSS Laboratories’ Quality Management system and processes
  • Implement the audit programme, undertake audits/reviews, prepare reports, monitor corrective actions to ensure timely close out and ensure improvements from audits are implemented
  • Support the Independent Assessment team and/or UKAS teams with audits and close out any actions identified
  • Interact with UKAS, regulatory bodies, Management Systems function and internal and external auditors
  • Support the implementation of the continuous improvement strategy
  • Manage the document control process for facilities and projects, providing challenge and escalating issues as necessary
  • Provide input to the area quality metrics

What You'll Bring

  • HND in Science/Engineering/Business or equivalent qualification plus experience.
  • Experience in quality assurance, management systems, compliance, auditing or governance within a regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of quality management principles, audit processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with, and experience of, the specific requirements of ISO17025 (and preferably ISO17020)
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage documentation, track actions and ensure compliance requirements are met.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to work effectively with auditors, regulators and operational teams.
