About The Company

Sagacity is a leading data solutions provider dedicated to empowering organizations across various industries with robust, reliable, and insightful data platforms. Our expertise lies in designing, building, and maintaining advanced data architectures that facilitate accurate analytics, reporting, and decision-making. We serve clients in financial services, retail, energy, telecommunications, water management, and the not-for-profit sector, delivering tailored data solutions that meet their unique needs. Our team is committed to innovation, quality, and excellence, ensuring that our clients stay ahead in a data-driven world.

About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Quality Assurance Specialist to join Sagacity’s dynamic team. In this role, you will own the quality assurance processes for our client data platform deployments, focusing on the Databricks Lakehouse pipelines, gold-layer views, and analytics datasets. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the data leaving our platform is accurate, complete, and fit for purpose, thereby enabling our clients to make informed decisions with confidence. You will work closely with Data Engineers, Platform Engineers, UAT teams, and client stakeholders to design and execute comprehensive test programs using our internal QA platform, SPHERE. The role involves interpreting test results, triaging failures, and providing assurance that data quality standards are consistently met across all deployments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data quality assurance, data testing, analytics engineering, or data engineering roles with a focus on quality.
  • Proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write and interpret complex analytical queries involving window functions, CTEs, and aggregations.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks platform, including running queries, navigating Unity Catalog, and understanding Spark job outputs.
  • Familiarity with PySpark or Spark SQL, capable of reading and understanding pipeline code and transformations.
  • Knowledge of Lakehouse architecture and medallion (bronze-silver-gold) data flow models.
  • Experience with YAML-based configuration and structured test definitions.
  • Basic understanding of Git version control and engineering practices such as branching and diff analysis.
  • Interest or experience in AI-assisted workflows and working with large language models as productivity tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Responsibilities

  • Design, author, and maintain comprehensive test plans covering all phases of client deployments, including schema validation, referential integrity, row volume checks, data quality rules, and migration parity, utilizing SPHERE’s YAML-driven test framework.
  • Systematically investigate test failures by tracing root causes through the Databricks Lakehouse stack, differentiating between pipeline bugs and data issues, and producing clear, evidence-based findings for the development team.
  • Manage QA work items within ClickUp, tracking failures, resolutions, and ensuring issues are closed once re-tests pass.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers to validate expected behaviors, review data contracts, and ensure fixes are validated before reaching UAT or production environments.
  • Coordinate with UAT stakeholders to align acceptance criteria, share QA findings, and facilitate actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
  • Participate in client delivery meetings to explain testing approaches, walk through results, and address questions regarding QA methodology, coverage, and processes.
  • Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement within SPHERE, raising change requests and contributing to platform enhancements as appropriate.
  • Maintain current QA coverage as new views and data sources are onboarded by updating baselines, refreshing metadata, and extending test coverage proactively.
  • Engage with AI agents for test authoring, result analysis, investigation, and documentation, working fluently within an AI-augmented engineering environment.
