About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Software Tester to join our dynamic testing team at MCS Group. This is a permanent position based in East Antrim, offering a hybrid working model with three days in the office and two days working remotely. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our testing processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. In this role, you will be responsible for both manual and automated testing activities, working closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth release cycles. Your expertise in automation frameworks such as Cypress, Selenium, or Playwright will be instrumental in maintaining existing automated test suites and developing new ones to improve testing efficiency and coverage. The role offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects within a fast-paced environment, contributing from day one and helping to strengthen our testing capacity.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years of experience in a software testing role, with a proven track record in both manual and automated testing. Relevant certifications such as the ISTQB Foundation or an equivalent qualification, or a Level 4 Diploma in Software Testing, are highly desirable. Hands-on experience with automation frameworks like Cypress, Selenium, or Playwright is essential, demonstrating your ability to design, maintain, and execute automated test scripts effectively. Familiarity with defect tracking and management tools such as Azure DevOps is important, along with strong analytical skills and attention to detail. A relevant degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is advantageous. The successful candidate should be eager to learn, adaptable to changing priorities, and capable of managing multiple projects efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update existing automated test suites to ensure they remain relevant and effective as products evolve.
- Design and execute comprehensive manual test cases, including functional and regression testing, to verify software quality.
- Identify, log, and track defects accurately through Azure DevOps, collaborating with development teams to facilitate prompt resolution.
- Review specifications and requirements to develop detailed test plans and test cases aligned with project goals.
- Manage your workload effectively to meet tight release deadlines, prioritizing tasks based on project needs.
- Develop a deep understanding of client products and systems, assessing how changes impact overall testing strategies and outcomes.
- Participate in team meetings, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and stay updated on emerging testing methodologies and tools.

Our hybrid working model provides flexibility, with core hours from 10 am to 4 pm Monday to Thursday and 10 am to 3 pm on Fridays, allowing staff to manage their own flex time within these hours.
