About Client

A UK based Startup Founded by a team of Google and Rocket Internet alumni, is looking for a Backend Engineer to join their team to build and scale their collaborative product.

About Role - Remote QA Engineer

As a QA Engineer you’ll be responsible for:

  • Establish QA foundations: design and implement a comprehensive QA strategy, including the development of testing frameworks and methodologies tailored to client's needs.
  • Automate testing processes: develop and maintain automated test scripts and methodologies to enhance our testing efficiency and coverage, reducing reliance on manual testing.
  • Improve product robustness: identify, document, and track defects, ensuring they are resolved before product releases. Ensure key features, especially integrations (eg. Jira, Slack), are thoroughly tested.
  • Monitor and report: implement monitoring tools and processes to catch issues proactively, ensuring we are aware of integration failures and other critical issues before our users.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: work closely with developers, designers, founders and other stakeholders to understand requirements, provide feedback, and ensure the highest quality in product releases.
  • Champion a culture of quality: raise the quality bar within the team, fostering a proactive approach to bug identification and resolution.
  • Drive documentation: document testing processes, procedures, and best practices for future reference and team training.

What do we value:

  • Experience: +3 years of experience in QA engineering, working with scaleups, being exposed to a growing number of users.
  • Technical:
    • Proficiency in writing automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Cypress.
    • Experience with manual testing, including exploratory testing and regression testing.
    • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies (manual, exploratory, automation).
    • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into the build process.
    • Understanding of web technologies and cloud platforms (preferably GCP).
    • Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman or Swagger.
  • Problem-Solving: strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Communication: excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a remote first environment.
  • Self-Starter: highly motivated, proactive, comfortable with ambiguity in entrepreneurial environments, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Agility: ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and adapt to changing priorities.
