QA Lead
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a QA Lead based in United Kingdom.
Join a fully remote team developing high-quality gaming experiences for players around the world. In this leadership role, you will oversee the daily operations of both development and publishing QA functions, ensuring testing processes remain efficient, scalable, and aligned with ambitious production goals. Working closely with internal teams and external QA partners, you'll drive quality standards, optimize workflows, and provide clear visibility into product readiness. This is an exciting opportunity to combine hands-on operational leadership with cross-functional collaboration while contributing to the successful delivery of major game releases in a fast-paced and innovative environment.
Accountabilities
- Lead the day-to-day operations of internal Quality Assurance teams, ensuring testing activities are efficiently planned, executed, and aligned with project priorities.
- Manage resource allocation, delegate tasks effectively, and adapt testing efforts to evolving development schedules while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Continuously evaluate and improve QA processes, introducing best practices, mentoring team members, and promoting operational excellence across testing activities.
- Act as the primary liaison between QA, development, publishing, and other cross-functional teams, translating production milestones into clear testing objectives.
- Provide transparent reporting on build stability, testing progress, product quality, and release readiness through data-driven communication.
- Coordinate and oversee external QA vendors and outsourcing partners, ensuring seamless collaboration, consistent testing quality, and efficient integration of external feedback into development pipelines.

Requirements
- At least 5 years of Quality Assurance experience within the video game industry, covering both development and publishing environments.
- Minimum of 2 years in a QA leadership role with demonstrated experience managing teams, delegating responsibilities, mentoring colleagues, and driving performance.
- Strong understanding of modern software testing methodologies, structured QA processes, and technical build pipelines.
- Proven experience collaborating with external QA vendors, outsourcing partners, or co-development studios.
- Advanced proficiency with QA and project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, and similar test management platforms.
- Experience designing comprehensive test plans, writing structured test cases, and improving testing workflows.
- Experience contributing to the launch of AA or AAA video game titles is highly desirable.
- Passion for video games, particularly Action RPG or Soulslike genres, combined with excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fully remote, fast-paced environment where priorities may shift rapidly.
