Quality Assurance (QA) Manager

Salary: Competitive salary

Location: Bourne, Lincs

Hours of Work: Tuesday–Saturday, 08:30–17:00 (with flexibility in line with business needs) Ways of Working: Site-based Contract Type: Permanent


About This Role

Following the merger with Bakkavor, Greencore is one of the UK’s leaders in convenience food, driven by the purpose of "making every day taste better."

This permanent site-based role, based in Bourne, is centred around QA leadership at a key manufacturing site specialising in fruit, leafy and dressed salads, noodles, and stir-fry mixes. The site employs over 1,300 colleagues and sits just 16 miles from Peterborough and 12 miles from Spalding.

The QA Manager will lead and inspire the Quality Assurance (QA) team to:

  • Monitor and evaluate product & process controls
  • Ensure adherence to Greencore, customer, BRC, and legal standards
  • Drive improvements in GMP performance and audit readiness
  • Strengthen food safety culture and elevate quality standards

Role Accountabilities

  • Compliance: Implement and uphold Greencore, customer, BRC, and legal standards to guarantee ongoing compliance.
  • HACCP & Risk Management: Manage HACCP audits, support risk assessments, and establish controls for new processes, products, and raw materials.
  • Quality Systems: Continuously improve the quality management system (QMS) to meet food safety and quality benchmarks.
  • Audit Processes:
    • Maintain robust audit systems, analysing findings and identifying trend-driven actions.
    • Lead audit preparations and host audits, managing non-conformance closures.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work effectively with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to meet technical requirements.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Develop, mentor, and drives the QA team.
    • Align on training programmes, capability development, and succession planning.
  • Technical Reporting: Generate, analyse & communicate key performance indicators (KPIs), agreeing with action plans to drive improvements.
  • Food Safety Culture: Actively foster a high-quality food safety mindset across the business.
  • Workplace Safety: Ensure the QA team operates in an environment compliant with health & safety standards.
