QA Manager

QA Manager – Beetroot Factory

We're looking for an experienced and motivated QA Manager to join our technical team at our Beetroot factory in March. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, and compliance across our site.


About the Role

As QA Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day quality assurance function, collaborating closely with Production, Operations, Commercial, NPD, and Technical teams. Your focus will be ensuring that our products consistently meet customer expectations, legal requirements, and industry standards, while driving continuous improvement, leading audits, and nurturing a high-performing team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Managing day-to-day quality assurance and food safety activities across the site
  • Leading and developing QA Team Leaders to ensure effective inspection and monitoring from intake to despatch
  • Supporting and deputising for the Technical Manager as required
  • Acting as Deputy HACCP Team Leader, reinforcing a robust food safety culture
  • Ensuring compliance with Critical Control Points (CCPs) through regular verification, challenge, and competency assessments
  • Managing internal auditing systems and quality checks to confirm product safety, legality, and quality
  • Monitoring hygiene standards and collaborating with the Hygiene team to drive continuous improvement
  • Conducting thermal process validations and maintaining associated records
  • Serving as the site’s main contact for pest control management
  • Preparing the site for customer visits and third-party audits, ensuring consistent readiness for assessments
  • Hosting customer and certification audits, acting as the professional representative for the site
  • Managing technical aspects of customer accounts where necessary
  • Investigating complaints and implementing corrective actions to mitigate customer issues
  • Producing and presenting technical KPIs to support business performance reviews
  • Ensuring compliance with customer codes of practice, retailer standards, and legislation

  • Previous experience in a Quality Assurance or Technical Management role within food manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety legislation, and quality management systems
  • Experience with customer and third-party audits
  • Proven leadership skills, able to coach, motivate, and develop teams
  • Excellent organisational skills with a meticulous eye for detail
  • Confident communicator, capable of engaging with customers, auditors, and colleagues at all levels
  • Proactive mindset with deep commitment to continuous improvement
