Job Description

Metlen Energy and Metals is seeking a QA/QC Engineer to join our M Renewables Division across the United Kingdom. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of large-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, ensuring the highest standards of quality are achieved throughout the construction lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain the Project Quality Management Plan throughout the construction phase.
- Coordinate and perform quality inspections across civil, mechanical, and electrical works in accordance with Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, material submittals, and method statements to verify compliance prior to execution.
- Ensure construction activities are carried out in accordance with approved procedures, project specifications, and applicable standards.
- Prepare, review, and maintain quality documentation, including inspection reports, test records, material certificates, and quality registers.
- Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and preventive actions, ensuring timely close-out.
- Coordinate inspections with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and third-party inspection bodies where required.
- Verify incoming materials and equipment to ensure compliance with approved specifications and project requirements.
- Monitor subcontractor quality performance and provide guidance to ensure compliance with quality procedures.
- Support factory acceptance tests (FATs), site acceptance tests (SATs), pre-commissioning, commissioning, and final handover activities.
- Ensure accurate completion of as-built documentation, quality dossiers, and handover records.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with the HSE and Construction teams to promote a culture of quality, compliance, and operational excellence.

Profile
What you bring to the role:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 3+ years' experience in QA/QC engineering within construction, infrastructure, industrial, or renewable energy projects.
- Experience on EPC projects, particularly within Solar PV, BESS, or power generation projects, is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems and inspection processes.
- Experience preparing and implementing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and quality documentation.
- Good understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and quality assurance principles.
- Experience managing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and quality audits.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, material certifications, and applicable standards.
- Familiarity with commissioning processes and project handover documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with electronic document management systems is an advantage.
- Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel across project sites.
