About the Role
Join our growing Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE) department at our UK headquarters, shaping our QHSE framework from the ground up. This is a crisp, newly created position where you’ll leverage your expertise alongside an international knowledge-sharing network and career development programmes.

Who You Are
You thrive in structured yet dynamic environments, balancing analytical rigor with interpersonal impact. We’re looking for a calm, detail-oriented professional who:

Responsibilities
Encompassing strategy, training, compliance, and data-driven decision-making, your key focus areas include:

Develop & Implement QHSE Frameworks
- Design process-based QHSE management systems tailored to our nuclear sector operations
- Establish procedures aligning with UK health, safety, and environmental laws, alongside ISO standards (e.g., fully required ISO 19443 for Nuclear Supply Chain Quality Management)

Lead Training & Culture Change
- Conduct nuclear safety culture sessions for employees and contractors (training material review/creation preferred)

Ensure Compliance & Risk Management
- Monitor regulatory compliance (UK laws + global industry standards)
- Implement and audit QHSE systems for alignment

Report & Reporting Excellence
- Produce fact-based insights on QHSE metrics for the UK leadership team
- Support strategic decisions with evidence-backed reporting

Operational Support
- Oversee behavioural safety programmes for Japanese-managed teams and contractors
- Interface with ethics & compliance (whistleblowing, ethical oversight)
Requirements
Experience
- Core skills: Minimum professional experience in QHSE within an industrial environment, ideally from the nuclear sector or a high-risk industry (e.g., heavy manufacturing, energy generation)
- Specialised knowledge: ISO 19443 (nuclear supply chain quality management) is mandatory
- Supplier Relations: Experience with supplier quality management practices—supply chain track record shows particular value
Technical Proficiency
- Hands-on BPMNext 2.0 experience for process design workshops? (Advantech’s BPMNext methodology) — detailed knowledge is a clear advantage
- Comfort with risk management frameworks (e.g., OHSAS, FAS-C, ISO 31000)
- Data-driven orientation: Ability to analyse performance metrics, identify gaps, and present findings clearly
Soft Skills
- Facilitation & Leadership: Track record leading advanced workshops or training initiatives
- Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
