Job Summary
Contract Type: Permanent Salary: £50,170.74 per annum Working Hours: 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday) Location: London / Hybrid
Support the Head of QHSE at Riverside Property Services (RPS) to develop and implement health, safety and environmental strategies that improve workplace safety, reduce risks, and minimise environmental impact. Identify and execute solutions while ensuring employee compliance across Riverside’s operations.

- Guide policy implementation and legislative compliance for health, safety, and sustainability across RPS.
- Audit, investigate, and mitigate risks while fostering a culture of safe and responsible workplace practices.
- Collaborate with teams to control workplace hazards, minimise environmental impact, and train employees on compliance.
- Support compliance with ISO standards (ISO9001, ISO45001, ISO14001) and legislative updates.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Service Development
- Implement health, safety, and environmental policies and improvement strategies for RPS.
- Monitor legislative changes and update the Health & Safety Legal Register with relevant policies.
- Lead the development of standardised systems for robust QHSE management.
- Promote best practices across all Riverside activities.
Service Delivery

Ensure compliance with QHSE policies for operational teams across Southern UK.
Worksite-based audits & inspections; remedial action planning.

Conduct accident/incident investigations (including RIDDOR reporting), analyse trends, and implement preventative measures.

Maintain accident statistics and implement corrective actions where necessary.

Provide guidance to the Health & Safety Committee, trade union representatives, and safety officers.

Collaborate with managers, supervisors, and staff to refine risk assessments and improve workplace safety performance.

Consistently maintain data accuracy and confidentiality, adhering to legal requirements.

Perform site reviews of contractors’ and suppliers’ information/practices.

Travel required ( predominantly Southern region-based company sites).

Adhere to RSPSA behaviours and Confidentiality Code.
Requirements
Essential
-
Hold the NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent recognised qualifications). Minimum 1-2 years of relevant QHSE experience in drafting reports/preparations (audits, risk assessments, action plans)

Proven ability in audit processes—including drafting reports and action plans.
Hands‐on experience evaluating management systems and passing recommendations.

Confident working with HS&E management systems, including:
- ISO 9001 (Quality)
- ISO 45001 (OHSMS, health safety)
- ISO 14001 (Environmental)

Excellent ability with Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel (including limited data analysis).

High attention to detail and documentation. Critical accuracy – focusing on risks/procedures.

UK Driving Licence mandatory for site visits and travel requirements.
Desirable
- Membership with relevant QHSE Professional Bodies (e.g. IOSH, IIRSM, IEMA).
- Additional Internal Auditor Certification (e.g. ISO 9001/14001/45001).

- Strong self‐initiated organisational skills to handle diverse responsibilities.
