Role Description
The QIS Neonatal Nurse role is a full-time, on-site position based in Luton, working within a neonatal unit to provide high-quality care to newborns, including those requiring intensive and critical care. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans for neonates
- Administering medications and treatments
- Monitoring vital signs and clinical progress
- Close collaboration with neonatologists, pediatricians, other nurses, and allied health professionals
- Communicating with and supporting families through education and reassurance

Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Neonatal Nursing and Neonatal Intensive Care for the safe management of premature and critically ill newborns.
- Candidates should possess core Nursing and Critical Care Nursing skills to deliver evidence-based care in high-acuity settings.
- Candidates should possess a sound foundation in Medicine relevant to neonatal and pediatric care, including understanding of treatment protocols and pharmacology.
- Registered Nurse qualification with valid NMC registration and post-registration experience in neonatal or pediatric settings.
- Relevant neonatal or critical care course (e.g., QIS or equivalent specialist training) and commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, follow clinical guidelines, and prioritize patient safety and infection prevention.
- Experience in an NHS or similar healthcare setting and familiarity with electronic health records is beneficial.
