Job Purpose Summary
The incumbent will be primarily responsible for assisting specific private banker(s) in managing relationships with High Net Worth (HNW) customers by mainly handling all the operational aspects related to Private Banking client servicing. The incumbent will liaise with the respective departments/ units within the Group to ensure priority processing of customer needs/ requests.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Shareholder & Financial:
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve all volume, revenue, and profit targets for the Private Banking (HNW) segment.
- Act within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent
- Implements KPI’s and best practices for role
- Promote cost consciousness and efficiency and enhance productivity, to minimise cost, avoid waste, and optimise benefits for the bank.
Customer (Internal & External)
- Assist Private Bankers with all client related matter, namely:
- Performing periodic sweep of clients’ account to identify and need for rebalancing investments, investing and reporting to the Private Banker.
- Ensuring the Private Banker is up-to-date on all important client related matters.
- Acting as a focal point and the main contact person for the Private Banker.
- Acting as the secondary account officer on each of the Private Banker’s clients’ accounts.
- Preparing, submitting and following up on all types of Credit Requests.
- Preparing all documentation related to credit facilities.
- Generating client reports (Statements, Credit Reports) as requested by the Private Banker.
- Liaising with Private Banking operations to follow up on requests (Credit Cards, Transfers, Deposits, account opening, etc).
- Replacing the Private Banker in all his functions during his absence from the office.
- Answering all clients’ requests in case of the Private Banker’s unavailability.
- Preparing all documentation/presentation prior to a Private Banker’s client meeting.
- Ensuring adequacy of documentation/information received by a client.
- Liaising with any of the Bank’s departments to follow up/resolve any pending issues related to clients.
- Assist Private Bankers, when requested with managing on day-to-day basis, portfolios of existing and potential clients to meet assigned financial targets, cross-selling other units (Treasury, Investments etc) within the client needs, making weekly client visits and preparing the related call reports.
- Implementing the department's agreed marketing strategies by managing a portfolio of existing clients and growing QNB profits through increasing wallet share and effective cross sales and assisting in producing yearly Budget Forecast, Goals & Objectives and Strategic Planning for the Unit Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments/units to achieve improvements in turn-around time.
- Build and maintain strong/effective relationships with related departments/units to achieve the Group’s objectives.
- Provide timely/accurate data to external/internal Auditors, Compliance, Financial Control and Risk as required.

Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory)
- Assist Private Bankers with the advisory process by reviewing clients’ documentation, keeping the information updated, and insuring adequate periodic rebalancing is made to keep suitability of investments.
- Assist Private Bankers with PB facilities process by studying new loan application, preparing annual account reviews and renewals, reviewing the technical aspects of a loan and O/D facility (amounts, policy, client history) in order to provide a view of the applications strengths and weaknesses and preparing mortgage loans agreements & collateral agreements.
- Assist Private Bankers to achieve full risk management requirements.
- Work with service providers to resolve specific problems.
- Ensure adherence to policy / legal requirements.

- Possess sound knowledge of the private banking business, its products and related risks together with a good knowledge of operations and control.
- Proactively identify areas for professional development of self and undertake development activities.
- Seek out opportunities to remain current with all developments in professional field.

Legal, Regulatory, And Risk Framework Responsibilities
- Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal compliance requirements including, but not limited to, Group Compliance Policies and Procedures (AML & CTF, Sanctions Policy, Data Protection Policy, Fraud Control Policy, Whistle Blowing Policy, Conflict of Interest and Insider Dealing Policy).
- Understand and effectively perform your role under the Three Lines of Defence principle to identify measure, monitor, manage and report risks.
- Ensure systematic good outcomes for clients in accordance with Conduct Risk policy.
- Support the framework of RCSA, KRI, Incident reporting and remediation, as appropriate, in accordance with the Operational Risk Management requirements.
- Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure full qualification to undertake the role.
- Complete all mandatory training provided by the Bank, attain, and maintain the required levels of competence.
- Attend mandatory (internal and external) seminars as instructed by the Bank.
Other
- Ensure high standards of data protection and confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information.
- Maintaining utmost confidentiality concerning customer and internal bank information obtained during the course of business and provide such information on a need-to-know basis only to Senior Management of QNB, Audit and Compliance functions, and relevant Regulators.
- Maintain high professional standards to uphold QNB's reputation and to strengthen its market leadership position.
- All other ad hoc duties/activities related to QNB that management might request from time to time.
Education, Experience And Qualifications Requirements
- University graduate with at least 6 years’ experience in financial services with a specialization in managing accounts/ relationships with HNW customers
- Well-informed of the market competitive structure, industry practices and any regulations for the private banking segment with at least 3 years’ experience in local environment
- CISI Foundation Courses (or equivalent)
- Introduction to Securities and Investments.
- Certification in Finance, Risk & Decision making.
- Financial Lending related courses
