Senior Accountant – Central London
A fast-growing and modern accountancy practice based in Central London is seeking an ACA or ACCA Qualified Accountant to join its expanding team in a hybrid (3 days WFH) role.
About the Opportunity
An excellent career move for ambitious accountants eager to develop their technical and client-facing skills within a supportive, high-growth firm. The role involves managing a diverse portfolio of clients across the Medical, Sports, and Entertainment sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Portfolio Management: Handle a range of clients from these key industries.
- Statutory Compliance:
- Prepare and finalise statutory accounts under FRS 102 and FRS 105.
- Tax & VAT:
- Process and review VAT returns across all schemes (including Qualifying Charities scheme, Processing Cash Accounting and standards).
- Corporation tax compliance and loss relief claims.
- Bookkeeping & Payroll:
- Payroll processing with compliance checks.
- Prepare management accounts and resolve data discrepancies.
- Client Advice:
- Solve accounting and tax queries.
- Provide proactive financial and tax advice to clients.
- Stakeholder Liaison:
- Coordinate with HMRC and third-party vendors as required.
- Relationship Building:
- Foster strong client relationships to grow revenue and long-term partnerships.

Essential Requirements
- Qualification: ACA or ACCA (UK membership recommended).
- Experience: Prior service within a UK-based accountancy practice.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proven track record in preparing reports under FRS 102 and FRS 105.
- In-depth knowledge of UK VAT schemes and dispute resolution.
- Hands-on experience in corporation tax filings, including loss relief claims.
- Bookkeeping and payroll administration proficiency.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional communication and client retention strategies.
- Commercial acumen to bridge finance knowledge gaps for non-finance clients.
