Job Title

Hays are recruiting for an established Accountancy practice who are looking to appoint an Accounts Senior/Assistant Manager to work with a portfolio of clients, consisting of medium-sized and larger entities, providing high-quality financial reporting and advisory support.

Role Overview

This is a non-audit role, and can be based 100% remote or working from home and is ideal for a technically strong accountant who enjoys getting into the detail of accounts, corporation tax and special projects.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

In this role, you'll work closely with audit leads and the partners to deliver high-quality services to our larger corporate clients. Your work will include:

  • Preparation and review of statutory accounts for medium-sized and larger entities and groups (note some smaller FRS102 1A accounts will also be included)
  • Preparation of multi-entity and multi-currency consolidations
  • Dealing with complex technical accounting issues, including research and documenting conclusions
  • Contributing towards client satisfaction via regular communication, maintaining strong ongoing relationships
  • Liaising with the audit team to ensure alignment across assignments
  • Managing and supporting corporation tax and VAT compliance and related submissions, with support from our specialists
  • Assisting with specialist and ad hoc assignments
  • Reviewing work and supporting more junior team members across the firm

Candidate Profile

  • ACCA/ACA qualified with at least 2 years' post-qualification experience (or newly qualified with strong relevant experience)
  • Experienced working at Senior or Assistant Manager level within practice
  • Strong working knowledge of CCH Accounts Production software
  • Proven experience working with medium sized entities and complex groups
  • Technically strong, particularly in financial reporting and corporation tax
  • Enjoy working on complex or unusual matters and getting into the detail
  • Confident communicator, comfortable dealing with clients and colleagues remotely
  • Well organised, dependable and comfortable managing deadlines
  • Enjoy developing others and contributing to a positive team culture
  • Like working as part of a collaborative team while also taking ownership of your work
