Nursery Practitioner – Bright Horizons Gaynes Park Day Nursery & Preschool
Role Overview
Title: Nursery Practitioner (Bright Flex / Bank) Location: Gaynes Park Road, Upminster, London – RM14 2HX Salary: Starting from £14.41 per hour (dependent on qualifications and experience)

About the Role
Working as a flexible working practitioner in our Bright Flex / Bank team, you’ll:
- Support colleagues in delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) through engaging and educational activities, fostering development towards key milestones.
- Assist in planning and delivering fun, interactive learning experiences tailored to each child’s needs.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and stimulating environment by assisting with room tidying, preparation, and daily administrative tasks.
- Collaborate with the team to uphold high standards of care, safeguarding, and inclusivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Engaging children in playful, educational activities aligned with EYFS guidelines.
- Supporting early learning and holistic child development.
- Assisting with meal times, light personal care, and nappy changing (if applicable).
- Ensuring the nursery’s safeguarding policies and procedures are followed conscientiously.
- Maintaining cleanliness, storage, and daily operational tasks.
- Adhering to bright Horizons’ HEART principles (Honesty, Excellence, Accountability, Respect, Teamwork) to ensure a positive, inclusive environment.

Requirements
✅ Qualifications & Experience:
- Full and relevant Level 2 or above Early Years qualification (e.g., Nursery Nurse, Early Years Educator, Childcare Assistant).
- Previous experience working with children in roles such as: Nursery Practitioner, Childminder, Nanny, Early Years Educator – valued but not essential if you can demonstrate passion and potential.
- Commitment to making learning fun and engaging for every child.
✅ Attributes & Skills:
- Passionate about supporting and nurturing young children.
- Excellent communication skills with children, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
- Ability to use varied engagement techniques, including storytelling, music, and hands-on activities.
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet daily needs and last-minute changes.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.
