Qualified Early Years Bank Staff

Nursery Practitioner – Bright Horizons Bank/ Contract

Location Bright Horizons Norfolk Lodge Montessori Day Nursery and Preschool Dancers Hill Road Barnet, Hertfordshire EN5 4RP (On-site car park; limited public transport access)


Salary & Working Arrangements

  • Starting salary: £14.24 per hour (dependent on qualifications and experience)
  • Employment type: Bright Flex / Bank (agency-style flexibility with employee benefits)

About the Role

We’re seeking a passionate, flexible practitioner to join our Bright Flex / Bank team at our Montessori-inspired nursery. You’ll support colleagues in delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), engaging children through educational and playful activities to promote their development. Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering hands-on, engaging educational activities adapted to each child’s needs
  • Supporting your team in daily tasks, such as room preparation, cleaning, and childcare routines
  • Working collaboratively to ensure a safe, nurturing, and developmentally rich environment

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • A full and relevant Level 3 (or higher) Early Years qualification (e.g., Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator, Nanny, Childminder, or equivalent)
  • Proven experience working with children in a nursery or similar early-years setting

Key Attributes

  • A genuine passion for play-based, inclusive, and engaging learning—making education feel like fun for every child
  • Strong communication skills to engage with diverse age groups, including parents, team members, and administrators
  • Sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection in line with EYFS guidelines
  • Ability to adapt quickly and work flexibly, supporting the broader team
