Qualified Flexible Working Practitioner – Bright Flex/Bank Team

As part of our Bright Flex / Bank team at our Bishops Stortford nursery, you’ll blend the flexibility of agency work with the security of a meaningful, well-supported role. Whether covering shifts, assisting colleagues, or contributing to daily care and education, your role will directly impact children’s learning and wellbeing while enjoying our award-winning benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Support fellow practitioners in delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), engaging children in fun, educational activities aligned with their developmental progress.
- Collaborate with the team to maintain a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment, including room preparation and tidying.
- Assist in daily activities such as feeding, diapering, mealtimes, and rest periods—with extra attention to individual child needs.
- Implement safeguarding practices and promote children’s welfare in line with Bright Horizons’ safeguarding policies.
- Embrace a flexible and adaptable approach to cater to the nursery’s operational needs, including shift work, absences, and last-minute requests.

What We’re Looking For
This fully qualified role welcomes licensed early years specialists with:
- Full and relevant Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Early Years (e.g., Early Years Educator, Nursery Nurse, Childminding), or equivalent experience.
- Practical experience working with young children (e.g., as a nursery practitioner, childminder, nanny, playgroup assistant).
- A passion for early childhood development; creativity and enthusiasm for making learning fun and engaging.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding and child protection; emphasis is placed on keeping children safe.
- The ability to work flexibly, commit to irregular hours, and join an inclusive, team-oriented environment.
