Qualified Nursery Practitioner

Department: Nursery Practitioner Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Monkey Puzzle, Guildford

Salary: £29,120 per year (starting salary; dependent on qualifications and experience)


About the Role

Monkey Puzzle Guildford is seeking a Qualified Nursery Practitioner (Level 3 or above) to join their passionate team and help shape the future of our youngest learners.

Responsibilities

Your role will include:

  • Ensuring high standards of care and education while supporting the nursery’s growth and performance
  • Creating inspirational, creative, and effective learning environments aligned with children’s needs (in line with the EYFS framework)
  • Prioritising safety and welfare through robust safeguarding knowledge and adherence to all governing legislation
  • Implementing the EYFS with a deep understanding of child development
  • Reporting any safeguarding concerns to senior staff or relevant authorities
  • Collaborating with parents and partners to promote the well-being and growth of children
  • Maintaining a positive and inclusive atmosphere for children, families, colleagues, and visitors

Requirements

Essentials

✔ **GCSEs Grade 4-9/ A-C, or equivalent (e.g., Function Skills Level 2 in Literacy & Numeracy) ✔ Full, up-to-date Level 3 qualification in Early Years (or equivalent) ✔ Ability to uphold children’s safety & welfare through strong safeguarding awareness ✔ Proficiency in behaviour management techniques appropriate to nursery settings ✔ Experience planning, implementing, and assessing child observations and progress

Great-to-Have Skills

🔹 Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2) 🔹 Experience with FGM safeguarding awareness training 🔹 Additional certification in safeguarding (beyond minimum requirements) 🔹 Paediatric First Aid qualification
